Area of Research
- My research focuses on the confluence of nanotechnology, cell engineering, and bioimaging to enhance cell-based therapies, including immunotherapy and stem cell therapy. My research group, the Laboratory for Cell Nanoengineering, investigates the augmentation of endogenous functional/therapeutic cells (e.g., stem cells, T cells, NK cells) with foreign and biocompatible nanoparticles. This research is underpinned by the application of non-invasive and real-time imaging system, including ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging, to track and monitor the application and effectiveness of these therapies. Our primary goal is to deepen our understanding of therapeutic mechanisms, enabling more precise control over cell therapies. This, in turn, boosts their efficacy and paves the way for their successful integration into clinical practice.
