Area of Research

• Our lab investigates the pathophysiology and treatment of musculoskeletal disease, leveraging spontaneous veterinary disease models—such as dogs and horses—to study cruciate ligament injury, osteoarthritis, and other inflammatory and degenerative tendon and joint diseases.  We employ various laboratory techniques to answer these questions, including cell biology; biochemistry; transcriptomics, proteomics, and glycomics; and biomechanics approaches.  We seek to advance ‘One Health’ therapeutic design and interventional strategies aimed at restoring cartilage and tendon health, improving joint mobility and longevity, and enhancing patient comfort for both veterinary patients and humans alike.
